For many people bereaved or seriously injured in a road crash, specialist legal advice can be an important source of support. It may help with matters such as wills, probate and potential claims. Choosing a solicitor with relevant expertise can make a significant difference.

The Road Victims Trust Legal Panel has been created to offer individuals and families additional reassurance at a time when decisions can feel overwhelming.

Each firm on our panel has been selected through a robust and transparent due-diligence process. We assessed specialist expertise in fatal and serious injury cases, regulatory standing, client care standards, and experience in supporting vulnerable people.

Firms are appointed only if they meet our published standards and agree to uphold the values and ethos of our Trust.

Our support services remain entirely free and independent. There is no obligation to use a panel firm, and individuals are free to choose any solicitor.

Panel firms make a financial donation to The Road Victims Trust in support of our charitable work. These donations help us continue providing free specialist support to those affected by road collisions. This arrangement does not influence the advice you receive or your freedom to choose legal representation. Our role is to provide information and carefully vetted options so that individuals can make informed decisions based on their own circumstances.

Our family-first approach means we focus on you and your family when your lives have been changed by serious injury or the death of a loved one. When someone is seriously injured or a loved one has been killed, the impact affects the entire family.

We support you and those closest to you through complex situations, including inquests, coronial proceedings and parallel criminal investigations. From the outset, we work to secure early rehabilitation, practical support and financial stability alongside your legal claim.

A road death or catastrophic injury affects every part of family life. We provide clear, compassionate advice and steady guidance at a time when decisions can feel overwhelming.

How We Support You

Following a fatal or life-changing road collision, families are often coping with shock, grief and uncertainty about what to do next. We make accessing legal and practical support as straightforward as possible.

From the first conversation, we focus on what matters most to you. That may include inquest representation, financial security, early rehabilitation or simply clarity about the process ahead.

Our Client Support Manager works alongside our legal team from an early stage, carrying out needs assessments, liaising with medical and rehabilitation professionals and helping families access community support. We assist with housing, benefits, adaptations and day-to-day practical challenges, ensuring legal strategy and real-world support move together.

We seek early interim payments to reduce financial pressure while a case progresses. We explain each stage clearly and ensure you feel informed, supported and in control.

Our Specialist Expertise

HCC Solicitors has extensive experience representing families following fatal road collisions, including cases involving complex liability disputes, criminal investigations and substantial civil claims.

In addition to road traffic fatality and injury claims, we provide inquest representation, Court of Protection support and advice on Lasting Powers of Attorney and Wills. This integrated approach means families can access immediate legal representation and longer-term protection in one place. Our Court of Protection and Private Client teams work closely with our injury lawyers to safeguard vulnerable clients and protect their financial and personal welfare.

Our aim is simple: to reduce the burden on you, manage the legal complexities and ensure you have the practical, emotional and financial support required during an extremely difficult time.
